I want to wish everyone the best of joy and happiness for this coming year 2016, and I hope you had fun in this year we are ending tonight.
I have seen so many participants to flourish and grow so much as artists, it just makes me happy.
Now more than ever I believe that practice makes perfect!
In four more weeks we start all over again! For better or worse, February is around the corner, and along chocolates and hearts, we have faces too! Lots of art ♥
See you the 1st of Feb here! (and in any other networks!)
Hugs

The last few days of the #29faces
Wow... This months is almost gone!
How are you doing? How has it been between trying new things and posting daily... or *almost* daily? ;o)
Lets do the last few days memorable... Did you try something new yet? Did you get better at it? Did you mess up horribly?? lol
Remember, you don't have to do a Master piece each time, but you have to dare to try the materials or styles that you have been thinking of, or that technique to practice... something different.
We are starting the count down....24... 25... 26....

29 faces updates!
Hey guys, how was your 1st week? All the new people joining for the first time, I hope you are enjoying it! Most of us seem to find challenging the mechanics of posting everyday, but not the faces lol
For those that like prompts, this week, try to do a face in 3/4 or profile, if you have not done one ever. And or work on a monotone portrait, play with lights and shadows.
Use all your stash! All those goodies, use them up! :o) For those that are just starting and have no clue what to do, I put together in my shop a sample kit, with over 20 items, and a fun list of ideas, prompts, techniques... for a limited time only ♥
We have grown so big! if you have instagram check the hashtag #29faces and #29faceschallenmge and you will see thousands of posts! Unfortunately those cannot be linked from this blog because you need to be in a mobile devise to post there. But if you are already there... have fun looking at all the awesome faces ☺
Have fun and keep your paintbrush wet! Your pencil sharpened, your mouse moving.... whatever you use to make your faces! lol

The button is here!
Here is the new graphic:
And here is the new blog button (for those in cells and tablets. Copy the gray area and paste wherever you want)
For those in computer, same, or copy the one in the side bar--->
Read the past post for getting a kit with sample materials. Not necessary but always mentioned.
The Linky will be up on September 1st as early as I can, Pacific time... hey, maybe even midnight, so my friends in Europe and AU, NZ much earlier than my time, can come and play! :oD

For those that have asked...
Every time I run the challenge I get many emails and a frequent question is if there is some kind of kit for the challenge. I am offering one as a test now! :oD
There are only 9 kits available, with samples to try and it includes a 29 prompts list!
It is only offered for the US at the moment. Time and demand will tell if it will expand later on. See it HERE
It is not necessary to buy it, to participate. It is only for those that have sent notes about it :o)

Yes, click HERE for newsletter and a free PDF list

Yes, but you can create in other techniques and mediums if you want to. But mainly painting and drawing (including digital)

No, if you follow instructions and use a tag, you only need to add your blog link once.
*In the FB group and the page you can post every day.
Can I join late?
Yes! Definitely! Work as much as you can and have fun.
Is it only in February?
No, we also go crazy making faces in September, starting on the 1st.
Can I paint/draw a political/current social event's person?
Not for this challenge. You can always create whatever you want in your own feed, but not as part of this challenge, simply to keep things friendly and safe or arguments and disagreements.
Do you have more challenges?
Yes. I run random challenges sometimes, and I have some other recurring like "June Guys", "Hands in April", and sometimes challenges about Frida kahlo in July or in October, along with "Dia de los Muertos" art. And every once in a while a mini challenge honoring a famous personality if they pass away when we are running the 29 faces.
Can I participate if I make "insert material here"....?
Yes! anything goes. Paint, print, collage, digital, sculpt... If you are interested in an unusual material, or something well known but new to you, go ahead!
Do you have/offer samples to test?
I do on occasion. It is not necessary to buy it, but I get asked so many times that I put together a variety of paper and a document with ideas to try. I will offer a kit for those interested in trying, upon request and for a small charge.
Can I join if I don't know how to draw/paint?
Yes, every level is welcome. Every person participating has a different goal, so knowing a little or a lot doesn't make a difference. You will be in a group having fun, and each member will be doing their own thing.
Do you teach?
Yes, check my online workshops here and my free video channel here.
Why can't I link here my FB?
People that are not in FB cannot see the posts, but there is a group and a page to share there if you click here
Can I link with my "insert site name here" blog?
Basically yes. If you can add tags/labels, and the site lets people comment, then you can add it. However, if it is a site that only lets members post, then you will not get as much interaction from non members.
Are animal portraits ok?
Well... Yes and no. I used to let people include animals, it is a great exercise, but this is after all a human face challenge. So, you can make an animal or two, also fantasy animals, but not the whole month of realistic pets, please. However, objects with a face, humanoids and fantasy faces are fine.
Is there anything to eat?
I hear this question so often, I had to include it. lol ...yes, in the kitchen! :o)

Saying good bye, till September!
Somehow February passes by so quickly, an not necessary because it is missing a couple of days I think, but also because making art seems to seep it up.
Whatever the reason, I hope this past 28 days you had a wonderful time doing your thing, experimenting, learning something new... having fun!
Don't feel bad if you didn't finish the 29 faces, you can still keep posting as you go, and visit all the other bloggers to say hi, now that there is a bit more time :o)
I will be working on a FAQ to have handy the information ♥
We'll be back again in September!

How was your 1st week of the challenge?
Are you having a good time? I am!
And for those that just now heard of the 29 faces.... it isn't too late! In fact, it is never late: You can start any time in February! And come back in September, don't forget!

The challenge's button
When I work on the 29 faces challenge button I always think, will it fit? Will it be OK?
I want something universal, embracing.... something that people, you! could relate to.
So I opted for an abstract. Each time I abstract more lol
What I want to say with this image is: you can!
I could do something realistic, or ask someone with a different style to make it extra fancy, but what i want to do is invite ALL from any level of expertise, and media.... to just follow that line and make a face.
The button, the challenge's logo for February is very simple and playful.
Because my personal most used way of doing things is more linear and outlined, I always aim for loose in this challenge. It helps me to awaken something inside my mind and for a month do things differently. Then I end up with more confidence and new perspectives when I work on a face.
Maybe you want to go from abstract into realistic.... maybe you want to try a new media. Go ahead.... just grab your materials and follow that line.
As always, the Mr Linky will be up Feb 1st,
Follow the help on how to add the link/directions on the side bar---->>
[that way you only add once! :o) ] But if you have a problem, I will fix it :o)
All unrelated links will be deleted.
I am SO looking forward to see your art!
